If you are already expert in the FEM method, you may wish to start directly with the second part of the course.

Introduction to the course

 

Part 1: Finite Element Method (FEM), an introduction: linear spring as the simplest finite element, FEM step-by-step, 1D example; shape functions for linear and quadratic elements, general procedure of stiffness matrix calculation, finite elements in 2D and 3D.
